- I've been experiment with A.R.A. 2 and find the connnection always drops
- when copying a large file over the wire, generally about 2/3 of the way
- through a 1+ meg file. If I don't do any large file transfers I never
- experience a disconnect.
-
- Computer 1: Mac Quadra 605, System 7.5.1, 8 megs ram, USR 14,400 Sportster
-
- Computer 2: Performa 6115CD, System 7.5.1, 8 megs ram, GV Gold II-P modem
-
- This happens no matter which Mac I initiate the connection from. I am
- using the latest modem file for each. I have RamDoubler 1.6 on the
- Performa, but the same happened when I disabled RD and used virtual memory
- instead.
-
- I tried setting s10 to a higher value than the default of 7 on the USR;
- it's already set to s10=14 on the GV (as I understand this is 10ths of a
- sec. before disconnecting if the line drops).
-
- Any idea what is happening here? Previous experiences tell me the GV Gold
- II-P modem is a problem child. Does anybody know how to diagnostic
- interpret results from the the I commands for the GV? Any general
- troubleshooting tips that might help?
-
- TIA,
- Jayfar
