  12. I've been experiment with A.R.A. 2 and find the connnection always drops
  13. when copying a large file over the wire, generally about 2/3 of the way
  14. through a 1+ meg file.  If I don't do any large file transfers I never
  15. experience a disconnect.

  17. Computer 1:  Mac Quadra 605, System 7.5.1, 8 megs ram, USR 14,400 Sportster

  19. Computer 2:  Performa 6115CD, System 7.5.1, 8 megs ram, GV Gold II-P modem

  21. This happens no matter which Mac I initiate the connection from.  I am
  22. using the latest modem file for each.  I have RamDoubler 1.6 on the
  23. Performa, but the same happened when I disabled RD and used virtual memory
  24. instead.

  26. I tried setting s10 to a higher value than the default of 7 on the USR;
  27. it's already set to s10=14 on the GV (as I understand this is 10ths of a
  28. sec. before disconnecting if the line drops).

  30. Any idea what is happening here?  Previous experiences tell me the GV Gold
  31. II-P modem is a problem child.  Does anybody know how to diagnostic
  32. interpret results from the the I commands for the GV?  Any general
  33. troubleshooting tips that might help?
